Things to Know About Your Daddy

Dear K.C. and Kaden,

It's almost Father's Day and there are a few things I want you to always know about your Daddy.

He loves us more than we can ever imagine.

You are both the lights of his life.

He puts our family first and family is the most important thing in the world to him.

He is a man of faith.  He trusts the Lord to lead him, guide him, and direct him.  He prays with us and for us every night.

He loves sports.  He especially loves playing soccer and softball and he can't wait until you are playing on the field with him.

He loves to watch Clemson football.  Really, he loves Clemson anything.

He tells us the best stories every night.  They are either all about the beach or the woods (you request them!).

He loves the beach, surfing, and finding cool things.  He also knows all about the different types of sea shells and sea creatures.  This is from all of his time spent at GCB with your great-grandparents when he was growing up.  He tells us stories about how he and your great-grandma would walk down the beach and pick up shells.

He loves to fish.  Even if we don't catch anything.

He is the funniest man I know.  He makes us laugh all the time.

He takes you to Tickle Island, our fictitious island full of laughter, almost every day.

He is our biggest supporter.

He loves Jack Johnson.  I like to hear him sing.

He loves Chickfila.  And sweet tea with lemons.  But don't give him ketchup or mayonnaise.

He's not a sweets eater, but he's the sweetest man I know.

He is a hard worker.  He does a great job with what he does.  Though he has a big responsibility with his career and has been extremely blessed to have the position he has in a top company, he doesn't put his job in front of us.  I am so proud of him!

He is always present.  He doesn't come home and want time by himself.  Instead, he walks in the door ready to play.  We like to spend every moment we have together, together.  As you grow up, you'll realize what a rarity this is.

He loves and treats me the way I hope you'll love and treat your wives when you grow up and get married.  Watch him closely and follow his example.

He is extremely competitive.  He doesn't like to lose at anything.  And that's good.

He likes to be clean, neat, and organized.  (I appreciate this!)

He and granddaddy built you a treehouse.  You love to play in it!

He likes to take walks around the neighborhood and to the "river" and find things.

He likes knowing about things, geography, and Pawn Stars.

He likes to be on time.

He is so proud of you and everything you do!

He takes the best care of us.

He's a handsome, handsome man.  :)

Most of all boys, he is a great example to you.  He is everything a daddy should be.  I hope you always look up to him and admire him like you do now.  He is so tender and loving with you and me, every day.  He shows us love in so many ways.  He loves finding treasure and has passed that love onto you.  Trust me boys, daddy is our treasure.  There is not a better man in the world than him.
