Day 7 {My Job}
I am thankful for my job today. I love what I do. My goal has always been to work in the capacity in which I work for in my place of employment.
I've had a job since I was in high school. I worked for my granddad's company during the summer when I was 14, and when I turned 15, I started working at a local bookstore. My parents supported me financially through high school, college, and graduate school, but I always worked (and I wish I had saved most every penny I made instead of "investing" in clothes and eating out all the time!).
After college, I had a great opportunity to work for a non-profit whose underlying goal was to help people, though not through traditional means. It's goal was to help people get jobs by bringing industry here. I enjoyed the work I was able to do and liked being part of something bigger than me, but it wasn't what I wanted to do in the long run. It also had longer hours some days that required me to be away from my family as well as lots of traveling.
About a year ago, I really started praying about a new opportunity if it was time. A few months later, one fell into my lap. I don't think I would have left my old job were it not for this one. I don't think that there is a better place to work. My coworkers are great. I get to do something I love everyday. I'm constantly busy and going from project to project. I don't get bored. It's high pressure, but I don't feel it. I love my job. I'm thankful for it today.
