Hello Everyone!

I'm Kaitlyn and I usually blog over at Wifessionals. Anna was kind enough to invite me over here today to share with you one of my favorite Saturday traditions:

Delicious, Quick Homemade Doughnuts

BEST . Doughnuts . Ever.

They only take 5 minutes to make (no, I'm not just saying that - literally 5 minutes)

Ryan, my husband, and I love doughnuts. So I found a way to make them - from biscuit dough.

This post is going to be mostly pictures because I'd rather follow picture directions than words anyways! And I'm sure your mouth will be watering by the end (:

Go grab a tube of biscuit dough. If you buy "Grands" size or the bigger tubes, you will get bigger doughnuts, duh. I like these Walmart brand ones because they are little. They come out a little bigger than those powdered sugar ones you can buy at the grocery stores in bags. I like being able to eat devour multiple doughnuts, so this small tube is best. Don't buy the flaky kind either. You need the buttermilk or texas style or something similar.

Fill a large skillet with an inch to two inches of vegetable oil and heat on medium high.

Separate the biscuits and slightly pat so they look evenly flat.

Find some circular object that will cut 1/2"-1" diameter holes. I used a water bottle cap.

Tah-dah!

Pop your "holes" out.

After 5 minutes your oil should be hot enough. The dough should bubble when you put the doughnuts in. Cook for 90 seconds (120 if you are using big biscuits).

Flip and cook one more minute (1 1/2 if large doughnuts).

Place on paper towel lined plate.

Cook doughnut holes for a total of 90 seconds.

Add to your plate.

Place cinnamon and white sugar in a bowl and mix.

Dip doughnuts in and flip to coat.

Place powdered sugar in a mesh strainer and sprinkle other doughnuts.

Yum yum yum. I've also tried chocolate glaze (maybe some sprinkles?!?) and filled doughnuts. For filled ones, skip the hole punch step and fry the dough whole. After they fry you can fill them with jelly or custard!!!

Thank you again Anna for having me. Enjoy your doughnuts!!!
